About

Sinopia Books offers editorial services and publishing guidance for art books, artist books, gallery publications, and collected writings, with a special focus on bringing artists and contemporary writers together.

Founded by Anne Wehr, Sinopia Books draws upon a creative network of editors, designers, proofreaders, translators, production specialists, and printers. We serve artists, art organizations, and art galleries, taking on the intellectual and practical challenges of making extraordinary books.

Making art books is a singular craft: the knowledge of art history, contemporary art, commas, endnotes, captions, design grids, color, paper, ink, and glue all come together to form a tangible, exceptional object.

Anne Wehr is a Brooklyn-based art book editor. From 2015 to 2025, she worked as senior editor at David Zwirner Books. She has edited and project managed publications on the work of artists including Ruth Asawa, Carol Bove, Noah Davis, William Eggleston, Suzan Frecon, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Donald Judd, Paul Klee, Yayoi Kusama, Joan Mitchell, Giorgio Morandi, Tony Oursler, Hilary Pecis, Raymond Saunders, Dana Schutz, Franz West, and many others. She previously held positions at the Public Art Fund, Time Out New York, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
